A Little About Me
I’m Giselle, a fourth-year medical student in sunny Miami, Fl, who hopes to land a residency in Dermatology come May 2017. I’m passionate about preventing skin damage and providing patients with accurate information about medical conditions, dermatologic products, sun protection, and procedures. You can also view a gallery of all the infographics I’ve created.
Where do I get my references from, and what are my qualifications?
I use PubMed/MEDLINE, Google Scholar, or Cochrane library to search for relevant articles from medical journals. I always read the methods of the study to make sure what’s presented is real and not just hocus-pocus. I have a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry from the University of Miami, and I’m currently a fourth year medical student in Miami. I have co-authored a few articles on dermatologic and plastic surgery related topics, and I’ve presented several posters at various conferences. Shoot me an email if you’d like to see my CV.
Are you sponsored? Why should I believe anything you have to say?
I’m not sponsored by any products. No one is paying me to write about their products on this blog. Anything that I got for free was probably at a dermatology conference after begging the reps to please give me the full size because I am a poor medical student. You should believe me because science!
When should I check your site for new posts?
I post every Friday at 9AM Eastern time. If there isn’t a post from me on that date and time, send out the search and rescue for me. You can also subscribe to my email list or like my Facebook page to receive all the newest content.
Do you take requests for topics?
Yes, absolutely! If you have a topic that’s near and dear to your heart, let me know and I will try my best to write about it. I love hearing from my readers be it via email, comment, like, or carrier pigeon.
Please enjoy my blog on all things to do with Dermatology. If you like the site, subscribe and you can get an email whenever I post something new.
